Electric cars have come a long ways in a short time. The new Tesla Model 3 can travel 225 miles per charge. It has features like “summon mode” which will allow it to drive on its own from where it is parked to where its driver is waiting. This is part of the plan to make Tesla a factor in the sharing economy. (Imagine, renting a car wherever you happen to be and the car driving itself to pick you up.) Within 24 hours, over 230,000 people placed orders with down payments for the car, even though it won’t be ready until late 2017. That’s 75% more plug-in cars than were sold in all of 2015. Incredible product meets incredible marketing through authentic purpose leadership in Elon Musk.
