Preparing for Black Swans

When I came on board as the new managing director in Ukraine,

I was excited to experience life in a new country and to take over an even bigger territory. I had a new apartment, a new gym and a new team of talented international managers. I was looking forward to the challenges of leading a business division with a large market and lots of opportunity. These are the normal things that business people get excited about at the midpoint of their careers.

I hit the ground running and ran into some road blocks right away.
